Herd About Rescue is an Ontario & Quebec based rescue dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of herding breeds and herding breed mixes with a special interest and  experience working with Double Dilute dogs who are born deaf, blind, or both. Our goal is to ensure each animal in our care finds a loving family suited to their individual needs, while educating the public about the requirements and quirks of herding breeds, along with the very special needs of the blind/deaf dogs.

Fosters Needed!

Herd About Rescue relies solely on the fosters who open their hearts and homes to a dog in need. We require all fosters to have some basic knowledge in herding behaviours, or be willing to learn. Special homes are required for our blind/deaf dogs where they will get the TLC they need while also ensuring they learn the confidence to navigate their world with ease. All vet bills, grooming, and food costs are covered by the rescue - you provide the love and safe place to stay while they wait for their furever families.

February 26th, 2024: We are currently closed for intake due to overwhelming numbers of dogs needing rescue.

March 2024 Sponsor Paws!

Every month we have sponsor paws available for purchase for $10 per paw. The money raised goes directly to pay vetting bills for the dogs in care with Herd About Rescue! On the last day of the month, we put all the names on our sponsors into a hat and one lucky winner wins a monthly, donated, prize (to be announced at the beginning of each month). But a sponsor paw today to help us keep helping them!
